PARABOL. INFORMATION. WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO..
PARABOL. Verein für künstlerische Forschung wurde 2022 von Wanda Spahl und Dominic Schwab gegründet.

Dr. Wanda Spahl is a social scientist with expertise in qualitative research and ethics. She researches health and healthcare in the context of marginalized groups, with a focus on digital technologies. Her doctoral thesis addressed healthcare for refugees in Vienna (2023, University of Vienna). Since 2023, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the Division of Biomedical and Public Health Ethics, Karl Landsteiner University of Health Sciences, Austria. She is part of the Horizon Europe project ASPbelong, which is developing a collaborative augmented reality intervention to promote adolescent health. From 2020 to 2022, she was a researcher and co-leader of the international, longitudinal qualitative interview study “Solidarity in Times of a Pandemic.” From 2018 to 2022, she worked as a university assistant at the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Solidarity, Department of Political Science, University of Vienna. Wanda Spahl has published in international journals such as Bioethics, Critical Public Health, Comparative Migration Studies, Frontiers in Public Health und JMIR Serious Games. In 2021, she received the Impact.Award from the University of Vienna for her public engagement, including advisory board participation and sharing her work through newspaper articles, radio interviews, and urban walks.

Research Profile  

Dominic Schwab
studied art and architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the Vienna University of Technology. He is currently a university assistant and doctoral researcher at ./studio3 – Institute for Experimental Architecture at the University of Innsbruck, where he teaches and conducts research on the digital reconstruction of spatial narratives. He has been a guest lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and regularly serves as a guest critic at academic institutions, including the Chair of Digital Architecture at ITA, ETH Zurich, the Institute of Architecture and Media at the University of Graz, and the Department of Architectural Theory and Philosophy of Technology at the Vienna University of Technology. He is a co-founder of VAS² – Vienna Architecture Summer School, the media art collective SO@P, and PARABOL – Association for Artistic Research. His work has been exhibited and published internationally. Most recently, he was awarded the MAK Schindler Scholarship at the MAK Center for Art and Architecture in Los Angeles.
